Working digitally gave Fred the freedom to move from Paris to live in an isolated paradise in a 16th Century chateau in the Cevennes.  He was videotaped sitting among his roses, talking his background in mathematics, his interest in art, and his process of inventing solutions to actualize ideas in a  few of his recent projects.

Frederic Durieu


Frederic Durieu is a Belgian new media artist living the south of France.  After his polytechnic studies in Bruxelles, he moved to Paris in 1998 where he worked as a pioneer in using code to make art and poetry.  His work has been exhibited in Paris at the Pompidou Centre, the Modern Art Museum, the Palais de Tokyo, and the Design Museum in London England.  He has been awarded a number of prizes including the New Writer's Award of the SACD, The Grand Prize of the SCAM and the Grand Prix Moebius Internationnal.
